Narrative stories: is about how stories are told. Narrative is the general term From Start to Finish,As the name suggests, linear narratives follow a straight line starting at the beginning, moving to the middle and proceeding to the end of the story. In contrast, a non-linear narrative often starts at the middle of a story or the height of a conflict and then double-backs to the beginning. Another, albeit more challenging, non-linear narrative form employs flashbacks and “flash forwards” to keep the reader on his toes as the writer tells the full story.

Linear story: the beginning, middle and end of a story.
The beginning Exposition, equilibrium which means all is in order, first to Introduces characters, setting etc.
The middle disruption means of the ordered state by an event, stage, rising to the climax: Action- interaction, conflicts increase, builds suspense.

Climax: Most dramatic point in a story in the action. The end Falling action, resolution: Conflict unravels, final moments of suspense are released. All the loose ends are tied up. In most cases cliff hanger or denouement which is the final part of a film.

Skins Trailer
In this Skins trailer the teen aged characters are presented as the stereotypical teens today. They’re in a party and they are behaving badly they are using drugs and drinking alcohol. The opening scene has been shown in this way to show the audience what the show is all about. The appearance of the characters extreme hairstyles and the girls faces full of makeup, people with drawings on their body. Most of the characters in the appeared to have half naked bodies. Which is expected considering the title of the teen drama is called ‘skins’.
It contains a lot of immature behaviour. There was a main character a young boy at the centre of attention waving a toy water gun about, He is shown in this way to make him look like a sexual confident person. This is importance because it shows he has authority and power. This action is an explanation of the falic imagery which is a male aspect that is supposedly meant to sender a message across. The audience for this Teen drama are teen and adults around their thirties.
Tv teen dramas use these stereotypes for specific reasons. One is to engage the audience with the program. Which is usually adults in their thirties, they can relate because they used to be young and used to get up to what they would see as no good now. The stereotypes are exaggerated for entertainment that is also something that engages the audience.

The camera shots explain a lot that you wouldn’t just necessarily see as a viewer either. Through most of the trailer the camera is held at a handheld, eye point of view, this is done to the audience. Also, there is a mid-shot of a group. Which shows relationships between friends.
