Skins
Trailer
In this Skins trailer the teen aged characters are
presented as the stereotypical teens today. They’re in a party and they are
behaving badly they are using drugs and drinking alcohol. The opening scene has
been shown in this way to show the audience what the show is all about. The
appearance of the characters extreme hairstyles and the girls faces full of makeup,
people with drawings on their body. Most of the characters in the appeared to
have half naked bodies. Which is expected considering the title of the teen drama
is called ‘skins’.
It contains a lot of immature behaviour. There was a
main character a young boy at the centre of attention waving a toy
water gun about, He is shown in this way to make him look like a sexual
confident person. This is importance because it shows he has authority and power.
This action is an explanation of the falic imagery which is a male aspect that
is supposedly meant to sender a message across. The audience for this Teen
drama are teen and adults around their thirties.
Tv teen dramas use these stereotypes for specific reasons. One
is to engage the audience with the program. Which is usually adults in their
thirties, they can relate because they used to be young and used to get up to what
they would see as no good now. The stereotypes are exaggerated for
entertainment that is also something that engages the audience.
The camera shots explain a lot that you wouldn’t just
necessarily see as a viewer either. Through most of the trailer the camera is
held at a handheld, eye point of view, this is done to the audience. Also,
there is a mid-shot of a group. Which shows relationships between friends.
