Proposal
Proposal
Company name: Urban Net.
outline: I am making an ident That will be for young youths i have based some of my ideas by looking at some ready made logo and channels that base their audience at 16 -24 ,which gives me an idea of what i should add to my ident because there viewers are young youths that i am also trying to target. The ident will be a clip that will be lasting for at least 5-30 seconds which is to identify a company or a TV program.
Target Audience: The target audience is for 16 to 24 ,its for young youths mainly people living in urban areas like Britain.
What it will contain/structure: In the processes i will be me making storyboards so that each frame is clear of what is going to happen in my ident there will be at least 20 frames. and getting my cast ready i will also be preparing my location and what things i am going to use to create my ident.
The background will be a couple of buildings a place that will look urban.I willl also use 3D animation to create the logo and the ident.
The background will be a couple of buildings a place that will look urban.I willl also use 3D animation to create the logo and the ident.
Ident and colors: The ident is going to be a range of colours i decided to use a splash of colour in the background but the ident will be in bold chunky 3D writing. It will be multi coloured so it will have loads of bright colours instead of one plain colour so that the audience will be interested in what they will be watching. The writing will match the back ground because the background will be of a building because the buidling will be 3d so the writing on the writing will match.
Materials: animation of bold writting.I am going to need equipment such as a filming camera to shot the scenery
Style of editing: I am going to be filming in stop motion and i will be editing is fast motion due to the fact that its targeted to a young audience and i want to keep them entertained.
Type of music/Genre: I will be using copy right free music that fits the style of ident

PASS TASK
|
Write your own brief for Urban Net – what is your idea?
|
Which existing Artist’s Music Video or Channel I dent are you adapting or developing?
|
I will be basing my outcome on the MTV and E4 logo because they tend to target the ages that i am trying to target which is 16-24 year olds.
|
What content are you adapting or developing from the existing products?
|
I will be adapting from the the MTV and E4 logo those are my two best and i will be basing my final idea on either one because i like the style and it will fit in with the urban net theme that i am trying to achieve.
|
Who is the existing audience it is aimed at?
|
The audience is 16-24 year old's male and female youths.

|
Does the product appeal to you and why?
|
The product appeals to the target audience because of the style and choice of colors i am going to use.
The writing that i am going to have it in is either chunky 3D writing or capital letters.
|

Unit 9
Still in procces
Unit 9 Learning Aim B Techniques and Transitions of editing
Unit 9 Learning Aim B Techniques and Transitions of editing
L1Pass Outline what
continuity editing is and list some continuity techniques
The principal behind continuity editing is
Continuity editing basically gives the viewer that the action that is going on in the scene is being continuous so it's flowing and that the editing cuts are invisible.
By using techniques such as
180 degree
rule:
Youtube name: Avengers Age of Ultron - House Fight Scene
[1080p HD Blu-Ray]
180 Degree rule is a guide line that is used to show between two characters that are in a conversation or it could be used for when someone is looking at something in the scene and the way the camera show it,is by using 180 degree rule so its in line with the character.
In the example in the link,it shows 180 Segre rule because the characters were looking in line with the objects or the other characters so when the camera switched it still looked as if it was in the same scene.
Jump cut
Youtube name: Samara Comes to You - The Ring (8/8) Movie CLIP (2002) HD
A jump cut is a cut in a film or video that cuts unexpectedly and is visible.
The way it was used in the link above is effective because it was unexpected for the viewers which is the purpose of it,so that they can scare the audience because its a horror film.

Split Screen
Youtube name: SNATCH - avi comes to london
URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiKTGIxDuQ8
Its when the screen is split into two so it shows two sides.in movies it could be showing two different scenes.
In the movie split screen is used a lot and is effective because it shows what's going on at the same time on two different scenes. This is useful especially because the audience will get a better understanding of what's happening.this is an alternative style.

Montage
Youtube name: The Karate
Kid - The Training ; Jackie Chan & Jaden Smith
montage is when time has been compressed into one short clip to show things like progression and improvement in someone or a thing.
An example is in the link above called karate kid in this film they use a montage effect to show that the young boy has grown in his progress and has come a long way it took him longer to get to the point that he is in but the movie shows it in a small mini clip lasting around 1 minute this is to save time and to keep the audience entertained.
Transitions: Dissolve
Youtube
name: Editing effects in the butterfly effect 1
Dissolve is when you have something on the screen could be an object or a Person ect and using an effect like dissolve makes the thing disappear from the screen but in a gradual way so it basically fades away and goes out of focus just like how the link above is shown.

Evaluation of editing
The editing technique that i made sure where added in with my advert was things like beat editing but only in some parts of my video for example the fast forward technique that i added to make the video flow and interesting so that the audience is paying attention to my video and so that i get a positive feedback along with people getting the message across which is the pass it on message,so that people feel the need to carry it on.
I added some match on action how i did this making some walk across the room but then go back o them i a different part of the room or just them leaving i showed this by letting them leave the screen and then to make it continuity i showed the person continuing walking across.
My advert was based on continuity so that the audience is aware and knows whats going on and so that it just flows. It worked well because i got a lot of positive feedback from it,because the advert had to be 3o0 seconds i made sure that i added fast pace because i couldn't fit any thing in.
my advert is linear narrative meaning that it just sticks to one specific set story and that it has a begging middle and end.my advert started of by someone filling a box with goodies and ended up to someone completely different at the end.
Although i had an linear narrative my advert looked as if it was a music video because i added in music and fast forward techniques to give it a bit of a twist.
A lot of my specific target audience liked it and gave me some positive feedback and i was told that it keep them interested.
All the techniques that i added were suitable to the advert and the brief because. The best technique based on my feedback was the fast forward one. The purpose was that i don't bore anyway that is watching so they don't find it boring and long it added it in to keep them interested.
The types of transitions that i added in were dissolvers so that it shows that some time has passed by and things have moved on.Everything together looked professional and was a strength because it was what people noticed the most.its what i think was a success in my advert.
Assignment 3 Summarise feedback
client: The feedback that i was give was positive feedback and i was impressed and happy abut it because it was what i wanted to hear i was told that my advert was clear of what the message was which was pass it on.in my advert i added in fast motion to make some parts skips by very quickly so that its not to slow and that its not boring to watch i did this for most parts but i was told that there was other places that i could of added it in to to keep the flow of the advert because i was told that it almost became a them to the advert and i was told that at the ending of my edit i didn't really fit the quote 'random act of kindness" "pass it on" properly it was not in the middle of the page and some part where cutting off.
Target audience: 16-25 year olds.
Peers: my feedback from my peers was very useful and handy and i was given a lot of positive feedback,i was told that one of my strengths were the music that was added and how it flowed along with the edit, in my editing i used fast motion in my edit so that i could add parts in but then make it a lot faster so that it snot boring to watch and that it keeps the audience attention and entertain them aswell.i also was told that the idea i picked wen very well and made the meassge of the ass it on very clear, they knew the purpose of the advert which was my intentions and it came acros them really well.
How successful was your advert fulfilling the brief according to their feedback?
Self evaluation
What are the 3 technical strengths of your advert and why?
1 A good technique that i added in my advert is the editing because it contained a lot of techniques such as a shot revers shot because in y advert i had two people talking and i wanted it to look as if the were having a conversation so it looked as if hey were looking at each other and speaking to each other.
2 Another technique i added was continuity so that my advert flowed and made sense, i also used 180 degree rule to show where a specific character is going and is on the same side of the screen by using this technique it wont confuse the audience and they will know whats going on and wont get confused.
What was strong/needs improving and why?
What i think went personally well on my advert is that i meet what the brief required such as i made sure that it looked professional and that it was high budget.I used a really good camera quality and the way i framed it also along with the way that i edited so that it looked good and that it flows along with the beat.an improvement that i think i should of done was do beat editing so that when the beat drops the scene of something thats happening changes along with it or if it starts of slow, the whole it should all go along with it but then if a beat was to drop it should cut to the past of it.
I made sure i shot enough footage to make some interest and that the audience will like what they see although the advert had to be around 30m seconds what i wanted to add in to my advert was a lot to make it 30 seconds. This is the reason why i made sure i added techniques like fast forward so that it doesn't last to long for an advert.
I also wanted to make sure that i told the story well and that it flowed.i made sure the techniques i added were viral buzz.

Task 5 written summary
Summary of my ideas
An idea i decided to ditch was idea 1 reasons being is that i would have to use my focus group or people around my age which is 16 or college students to be the actors and there would be no way that we could get a young baby to cry in the bus it seams impossible to film because there is always a lot people on public transport so it will be hard to film and not a lot of people will appreciate there face being on camera if they don't know the reason or would not want to be shown at all especially that the video will have to be posted on to social media such as YouTube etc.The point of the advert is for it to be an random act of kindness which doesn't have to be such a difficult thing to do and this idea is to complex.I also don't think it will reach the target audience because of the location and the fact that it will have to contain a young child.
- A baby on the bus crying out loud everyone one in the buss is getting annoyed and a person has a bag of sweets and give the baby one and the baby stops crying, everyone on the bus is watching and feels a relief once the baby stops crying, people saw what the kind girl did and i planned this because i think it will make people that are watching to do the same and do so if next time there are in that situation they will think of doing it.Main reason of this idea is that people will think to buy some sweets and give it to any child they see, which is an random act of kindness. The brief contains the purpose which is for me to make an viral advert video and make sure it contains random acts of kindness i need to bare in mind that its meant to be all random for examples doing something nice for strangers because you don't know them.the location will be in a bus and the cost will be around 2 pounds for a bag off sweets.
- Someone in a shop is about to pay for what they are going to get and someone then offed to pay for them,it will be located in McDonald's the location will be an easy access because there a lot around the area i live in,this will be affordable because meals are quite cheap so the cost will properly be around the price of £5 pounds or less ,which is considered as an random act of kindness, because your randomly being nice this will fit the brief because it does what the brief requires,The audience is also 16-25 a lot of people around this age that i know personally go to places like McDonald's so it will reach out to its target audience.
- Its cold outside and someone in the street hasn't got anything warm on to wear so someone gives the man an warm jumper to wear because they see that his feeling cold.the location for this could be anywhere random in the street, this could cost around 10 pounds for a jumper.

Task 4: Generate 2 ideas
What will happen in your advert? (Collect 5 images using Shutterstock to show the narrative or story sequence)
My idea is to have the setting in a large city where its busy and have a poor man asking around for money, just for a few coins in but everyone that he ask walks straight pass him with out having a care in the world. am also going to have an rich man that works in the city ask for a few coins at random people in the street to add on money to what he already has, just to get get a sandwich and the strangers give him a lot more money then his asked for . It goes to show that people disscruiminate againts certain people because of their condition
Homework
Media products like charity adverts
include conversations in there adverts or someone talking about whats going or
the issue that they are having and trying to get out to people to make then
want to help the charity out because of whats been said or shown.for example
they could be in a poor country and show an conversation going on between the
one living in poverty but in most cases they have one person talking about how
badly they are living to make the audience feel sorry for them which could make
the audience want to help out.this could make the advert go viral through the
internet when its been shared more people will see.
What can make an charity advert
very successful and go viral is what it contains which is the six elements of viral
buzz which are
11) The taboo
22) The unusual
33) The outrageous
44) The hilarious
55) The remarkable
66) The secrets
I am going to be evulating an advert that I've watched called ‘Random acts of kindness for pay it
forward day’ this video was not successful because it did not go viral you can
tell by the views.the video it self is badly performed and it didn't look
nicely organized a message wasn't shown i was a bit confused when i first started
watching it,it also didn't have any sound to it, didn't hear the people
talking. There was only music which didn't go with the theme and didn't make scene. It
didn't include any of the viral buzz elements. The advert did not go viral for
multiple of reasons. It didn't look like something that will air on Tv while the
adverts where on.There wasn't a specific message that went out.The people that
watched it didn't enjoy it so they didn't share it.
